How Hard Is The Hiset Math Test

Ged And Hiset Requirements

HISET Test 2020 How To Pass! (Formula For Success)

States have the liberty to set their own qualification standards and criteria. In general, though, we see that in most states, the minimally required age for testing is 18 for both the GED and HiSET tests and scoring standards are the same in all GED using states as well.

Students cant be currently enrolled in high school, and they havent graduated from high school.

Under-age students may qualify if they are officially withdrawn from high school, have parental consent, and meet more strict requirements.

Hiset Vs Ged Which Is Easier To Pass

Now, is there a way to determine which test, the HiSET or the GED, is easier to pass? Which questions are easier? Well, there is no straightforward answer possible to this question. All persons are different, and what one individual may consider difficult may be less challenging to another and vice versa.

So now you have more than one option to get your HSE diploma. Just make sure you command all areas and sign up for the test!

Students used to online study and test methods may feel comfortable with the GED or the computerized HiSET format while those not so familiar with digital testing methods will be happier to take the HiSET which is still offered in a paper-and-pencil formatted way in most states.

Many students feel that the math portion of the HiSET exam is somewhat less challenging than the GED math portion.

In general, the HiSET and the GED are similar tests, and online practice tests are useful for both exams.

Both the GED test and the HiSET exam had to be taken at a state-approved test center but recently, there were also online versions of the exams introduced. For online GED testing, check out this post, and for HiSET online testing, visit this page. The tests are offered in both English and Spanish at many test centers.

How Hard Is The Ged Test

If you dont have a high school diploma, earning a GED is the best way to improve your life. Getting a high school equivalency certificate, like the GED, HiSET, or TASC, will improve your job prospects or enable you to apply for college. But how hard is it to get a GED? That depends! The truth is that anyone can pass the test and earn a high school equivalency diploma. It doesnt need to be hard. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about the GED test.

What Is A High School Equivalency Credential

HiSET Math Free Practice Test 2 #26

In the United States, anyone who doesnt have a high school diploma can fill this requirement by earning a high school equivalency credential. To earn your HSE, you will need to take a HSE test and pass it. There are three types of HSE exams that are accredited in the U.S.: GED, HiSET, and TASC. There used to be only one HSE test, the GED, but now all three are available across the country. So, which one should you take? That depends on where you live. Be sure to check this high school equivalency by state guide to check which test is offered in your state.

No matter where you live, youll be tested on the same subjects and skills. The HiSET test is the easiest of the three, but not by very much. Each test covers the same material, so the difference is not very significant.

Math: What To Expect When Youre Testing

Math is one of those subjects that just seems to be a thorn in the side of some students. It can be frustrating when others seem to get it and you feel left behind. Do any of the following describe you?

  • I used to be good at math, I just need a refresher.
  • I like math but never got good grades.
  • No matter how hard I study, I dont get it.
  • My math teachers didnt always teach very well.
  • I dont like math. Why do we need to know it?
  • I have a learning disability, so studying math is a challenge.
  • I get test anxiety before math tests.

Being aware of your thoughts and feelings about math, and knowing that others may have them too, helps test-takers to feel more comfortable preparing for and taking the GED® Math test. Math anxiety is a lack of self-confidence that comes from a history of low math scores in school, and it makes you focus on being afraid rather than on how to answer a test question.

You are not alone. Math anxiety is very common among GED test takers, but so is success. You can conquer your fear and pass the test too.

Being prepared is a good way to reduce test anxiety. Put the test into perspective. Yes, you want to pass and thats important to you, but dont allow a test to be so important that it makes you feel like youve failed before you even start.

So now what? Now you arm yourself with knowledge to give you confidence. As with anything, the test will be hard if you arent prepared or if you dont know what to expect.

What Are Some Geometry Questions Asked

Shapes are an important part of math. The GED exam will ask questions about different types of shapes and how numbers relate to those shapes. Learn about circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, cubes, prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and cones. Questions will ask you about the area and perimeter of two-dimensional shapes, and the volume and surface of three-dimensional shapes. One thing that helps me is thinking about geometry, like a puzzle.
