The ceremony was held in Windsor on their ninth anniversary on December 21, 2014.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016, Elton shared that he never thought he would have children. If youd had said to me ten years ago Id be sitting on your show married to the man I love and have two beautiful children, I would have said you put acid in my drink.
He continued, But life throws you challenges and these two children have come along at a time I never thought Id have children. They are the greatest thing in our lives. There are no words to describe how much we love these boys. Theyre just amazing.
Although the couple has said they have a close bond with the woman who was their surrogate, they have not revealed her name.
News Idea reports that the couple has settled down since giving birth. They quote Elton as saying, We have really toned things down because we have enough stuff. There is nothing else we need.

Elton John’s Kids Have A Superstar Godmother
There’s no doubt Elton John’s kids will be raised hearing unforgettable stories from their dad’s rock ‘n’ roll heyday however, John won’t be the only singing superstar in his kids’ lives. Instead, Zachary and Elijah will likely also grow up being entertained by tales of stages and superstardom from their godmother world-renowned pop star Lady Gaga.

He continued, telling Extra, “We’re all bonkers in this business, but we’re human beings at the same time.”

In the new Elton John movie Rocketman, the pre-fame Reginald Dwights father, Stanley, is portrayed as a cold, distant parent who is much more concerned with his prized record collection going untouched than he is with raising his son.
In real life, John has made disparaging remarks about Stanleys behavior as a father since at least the mid-70s, and even failed to attend his funeral after his death in 1991. Yet the other members of the family many of whom are estranged from John have regularly suggested that the truth about Stanley Dwight is less dark than those press quotes suggest.
It appears to have started in 1976, when John told Playboy that Stanley had been an absentee father who didnt even set eyes on his son until he was two years old. He painted an image of a control freak who even told the boy to stop eating celery so loudly and refused to let him play soccer in the family garden. John stated that his flamboyant image was a result of his father preventing his character from being expressed and went as far as to say he felt pure hatred from Stanley.
In other interviews, he accused his dad of having abandoned his first family in favor of starting a second one, telling the Sunday Times, It wasnt that he didnt know how to relate to kids. He left us, remarried and had another family, and by all accounts was a great dad to them. It wasnt children, it was me.

Elton John Confirms He’s Dad To Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish
Elton John has finally confirmed he’s a daddy again, officially announcing the arrival of Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John to the world.
Rumours abounded last Thursday that the Rocket Man legend and his partner David Furnish had welcomed another child via surrogate, but before we could send them a sparkly romper suit, a rep for the rocker denied the reports.
Elton and David are dads again
However, the birth actually happened on Friday in Los Angeles.
A statement to Hello! reads: “The reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.”
Elijah is a little brother for Zachary, who was born on Christmas Day in 2010.

Speaking about his desire to have more kids following Zachary’s birth, Elton revealed he would use the same surrogate again so his children are biological siblings.
He said: “We could go back to the same egg donor, so biologically there would certainly be a connection between brother and brother or brother and sister.”

Stanley is portrayed by actor Steven Mackintosh in Rocketman.
The 52-year-old actor is known for his role as Andreas Tanis in the Underworld movies.
His other notable roles include Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Land Girls, and the first season of Luther.

Elton John Introduces Son Elijah Joseph Daniel
When Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John arrived in Los Angeles on Jan. 11 two days after his due date dads Elton John and David Furnish were in the delivery room just as they were when Elijahs big brother Zachary Jackson Levon was born to the same surrogate two years ago.
We tried to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, John, 65, tells PEOPLE. We were excited at the prospect of Elijahs birth as we were at the prospect of Zacharys but much less nervous.
Adds Furnish, 50: I would say we feel more secure in our parenting skills now its far less scary than the first time round!
When the couple, who entered into a civil partnership more than seven years ago, decided just before Zacharys first birthday in December 2011 to expand their family, they knew they wanted to use the same surrogate.
She is a wonderful, kind and loving woman, says John, who thinks of her as part of our family.
John and Furnish intend to be open with both their boys about the circumstances of their births .
We kept a scrapbook for Zachary with all his scans, emails with the surrogate and key moments from the surrogacy, and we are doing the same for Elijah, explains Furnish.
We want the boys to understand the spirit and love that was at the heart of the process.
For the next few months, the family of four will live in L.A. before returning to their light, bright room filled with toys and books, says Furnish, in their main home in Windsor, England.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish have confirmed they have become parents for the second time.
The delighted couple welcomed Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John at 6.40pm on Friday January 11, 2013.
The 8lb 4oz baby boy – a much -wanted brother for Elton and Davids beloved two-year-old son Zachary – was born in Los Angeles via a surrogate.
Speaking to HELLO! the couple confirmed the news and said in a statement: Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable.
“The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way.
“It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.
Sir Elton, 65, who wed David, 50, in 2005 after 12 years together, spoke last summer about their desire to extend their family.
I think its difficult to be an only child, and to be an only child of someone famous, the singer said. I want Zachary to have a sibling.
Zachary was born in December 2010 and will no doubt live a glamorous life. It can be friends with Adele’s unnamed tot.
Last year Sir Elton, 65, told how he and David, 50, were keen for their son to have a brother or sister.
He said: At what stage we dont know. But we definitely will. I dont want him to be an only child.

The ‘Rocket Man’ singer and his husband David Furnish became parents to four-month-old Zachary Jackson Levon through a surrogate mother on Christmas Day and at first insisted they didn’t want to know which of them was his real dad.
However, the 64-year-old star has now decided to carry out a DNA test in case Zachary ever needs to know who he is blood-related to for medical reasons.
Elton told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Zac will have to know for his medical records. If it’s David, I’d be very proud. It wouldn’t matter to me – and vice versa.”
He also revealed that the anonymous woman who carried his son sends the family her breast milk via air mail company FedEx.
Soon after Zachary was born, a friend of David’s said the couple didn’t plan to find out who was the biological father so the little boy would grow up to see his two parents as equals.
They said: “He and Elton made a pact that they are equal parents – no one will ever know who the biological father is.”
However, Elton reportedly admitted that he hopes to be the one who shares his son’s blood, although he would also be happy if David was Zac’s real father.

Elton John’s Kids Made Him Want To Stop Touring
In a 2013 interview with The Guardian, Elton John revealed he was planning to step away from the spotlight. “I don’t want to tour all the time,” the superstar told the publication. He continued, explaining, “I want to spend time with David and the kids.”
Despite his words, John was still touring the world during a 2016 interview with The Guardian. However, the “Bennie and the Jets” rocker assured the publication he was determined to end the touring stage of his career. “It’s on the horizon,” John promised.
