Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2

Anybody have any idea how to get this one? I’m only missing that and the one for finishing sequence.Sidenote, this game rocks my socks.

In the sequence mode you need to make a smiley face out of the blocks of 5×4, by failing those levels, yet still completing the game. Your screen will look something like this X O X O X X X X X X O X X X O X O O O X

Ah thats what that one meant . Thanks for the clear up .

Thanks. I was wondering about this one too.;

Has anyone actually managed this yet?;It’s pretty damn tough. I keep getting so far with the pattern then end up dying and messing it up.

You know, even in the demo, I thought it had something to do with Waves, but I couldn’t be sure.

Ridiculously difficult.; I’ve come 2 short.

That is crazy tough. Its the only one I’m missing now.

I just got it. It took a bit of practice but I finally did it. :DThere is a useful guide located here which gives good tips and strategies for doing it.

Haha, this achievement is pretty clever.

I haven’t tried for it yet, but I can imagine it’s going to be a royal pain in my ass.

Building A Better Achievement

As anyone who has ever tried to get all the achievement points in an Xbox 360 game can attest to, there will always be those two or three achievements that seem to take up the most time for the worst reasons. Collect a third of the COG tag in Gears of War, and you earn the Time to Remember achievement. Find every single flag in Assassins Creed, and you earn the Keeper of the Lions Passant achievement. Visit all the graveyards in Two Worlds, and you earn the wait for it Visited All Graveyards achievement. An unfortunate majority of 360 games have at least a few of these lazy, needlessly completionist goals that require far more effort than their relatively small rewards warrant. Theyre the kind of goals that anti-achievement crusaders whine about and achievement apologists grit their teeth and tolerate against their better judgment. So how could developers improve them?

For me, the best Achievements or at least, the least irritating ones fall into two distinct categories: those that require essentially nothing more from you than making your way through the game, and those that ask you to engage in an interesting or unusual activity that has no effect on your progression. Problems only arise when achievements both stymie your advancement through a game and require unimaginative, typically repetitive actions.

Achievements: Geometry Wars 2

Console Monster writes: “Geometry Wars 2 will be shooting to the XBLA soon and we have the achievement list for it. The list doesn’t look as hard as the original’s achievements though it brings up a few surprises. The new Geo Wars will contain “King” â what seems to be a king of the hill type mode and “Deadline” â a game involving gates… The most mysterious achievement of all is “Smile” with the description: 2, 4, 11, 15, 17, 18 and 19. Whatever could that mean? Here’s the list: Unlocked All Modes

Wax Off

After hours of trying I finally got the Smile achievement in Geometry Wars 2.; There are 20 levels, and you have to run out of time on 2 and 4, and die on 11, 15, 17, 18, and 19.; Thats the easy part, living on all the others is the hard part.

I was surprised it took so long, but as I got thinking about it, since my chances of death on any given level are relatively high, the overall probability of getting the achievement is pretty low.; So I made a table out of it with some very vague probabilities of how likely it is to die on each level, and thus how likely it is to win.
