These syllabus books are the best to practice with. Have you ever noticed the high scoring students always stick to the syllabus textbooks and this is only because they know the true significance of that key to success book .

Reference books are good to study but only for those students who want to be a part of competitive exams after 12th class. But if you really want to score more percentage, then, according to me, you should stick with your syllabus textbooks.

All the syllabus books in any board exam are designed according to the strict syllabus and this has never happened in the history of board exams that a question has come out of the syllabus.

So according to me, you should not go for the reference books, because you are preparing for class 12th, not to get selected in NASA.

    Writing Skills Are Highly Important

It is a common mistake to ignore writing the full-length mock Chemistry Exam till February. Board exams are lengthy papers. There is a lot of content which has to be put on paper. Writing the full-length paper improves the ability to adhere to the permissible time. It takes 3 or 4 papers to get used to the rigours of presenting your points in the desirable manner.

    For improving presentation:

    • In Physical Chemistry, write the equation and values of parameters in the beginning of the solution of a numerical based question.
    • In Organic Chemistry, mentioning names of reactants and products increases credibility of the solution.
    • In the Inorganic Chemistry, abundant use of keywords is preferred for answering conceptual questions.

The weightage of the chapters in Chemistry is such that most of chapters have nearly equal weightage. It is rather proportional to the number of pages in NCERT devoted to a particular chapter.

For often neglected chapters in your CBSE Class 12 Chemistry board exam such as ‘Surface Chemistry’, ‘Biomolecules’, ‘Polymers’, ‘Chemistry in Everyday Life’ and ‘d – and f – Block Elements’, it is better to go through the theory along with chapter-wise previous year questions.

What are my weak points and how to make them strong? You should always keep this question in your mind while preparing for the board exams.
