Nicole, who routinely shares throwback photos of her family on her gram page, fell in love with her adoptive father quickly. While Lionel first met the tiny and adorable Nicole when she was just 4 years old, he didnt make the decision to adopt her right there and then. However, within a year, Lionel recalled in an interview with Popsugar that Nicole was already calling him dad. It only took a year for the future star to see Lionel as her father, while the adoption only came through five years later.

After seeing her on stage with Prince, musician Lionel Richie was captivated and knew he had to be part of the future reality star’s life.
Lionel Richie was at a Prince concert in 1983 in Los Angeles and he couldnt take his eyes off the stage. But it wasnt the Purple Rain singer who had captivated him it was the 2-year-old girl playing the tambourine alongside him.
Lionel was immediately drawn to her. He found himself asking around to figure out who the child belonged to. He soon realized she was Nicole Camille Escovedo, daughter of musician Peter Escovedo and assistant Karen Moss, who worked for Peters sister, singer Sheila Escovedo, better known as Sheila E.

A few weeks later, Lionel saw Nicole again and learned about the challenges she was facing. We a little worried that the little kid cant go on tour because a 2-year-old needs to be stationary they cant keep going on the road, Lionel told Huffington Post of Nicoles parents careers.

The Middle Child: Miles Richie
Lionel’s second child and only son, Miles, was born on May 27, 1994, to the singer and his second wife, Diane Alexander.
Miles is a fashion model signed with the prestigious agency Wilhelmina. He’s also the least well-known of Lionel’s three children. But as it turns out, that might be intentional on Miles’s part: “I’d like to be known as a model or an actor, not just the ‘son of,’ or the ‘brother of,'” he told Garage in November 2018. “I’d like to develop my own identity in those scenarios.”
Miles’s name did shoot into the spotlight in early 2019, however, when the young model was allegedly detained by authorities at London’s Heathrow Airport for both claiming he had an explosive device and punching a security guard, according to a TMZ report.

Richie’s son, Miles Brockman Richie, was arrested in January 2019, after allegedly making a bomb threat at Heathrow airport in the United Kingdom.

After security showed up, he allegedly got into an altercation, punching one of the guards before police arrived and detained him.
